This is the base warranty for GAF. It is a basic coverage of the products that are installed without many of the extra benefits that their more advanced warranties offer.
– Manufacturer defects. There is 100% coverage for 10-years or 3-5 year on 3-tab shingles. Cost of labor is included. Roofing system coverage is available.
– Workmanship coverage. No workmanship coverage is included.
– Peace of Mind Coverage. All GAF warranties include maximum wind coverage up to 130 MPH (except on 3-tab shingles) and transferable warranties at no charge.
System Plus Limited Warranty
The “better” warranty version offered by GAF has more options and coverage for both the roofing materials and the roofing system. It includes:
– Manufacturer defects. There is 100% coverage for 50-years or 20-years on 3-tab shingles. Cost of labor is included for lifetime or 25-30 years on 3-tab shingles. Full roofing system coverage is included.
– Workmanship coverage. 100% workmanship is covered for 2 years. Misapplication of certain flashing is covered for 2 years. Installers are certified. Tear-off costs are covered for manufacture defects but disposal is not.
– Peace of Mind Coverage. All GAF warranties include maximum wind coverage up to 130 MPH (except on 3-tab shingles) and transferable warranties at no charge.
Golden Pledge Limited Warranty
The top of line in warranties by GAF is their Golden Pledge warranty. It includes everything that System Plus does and even more.
– Manufacturer defects. There is 100% coverage for 50-years or 20-years on 3-tab shingles. Cost of labor is included for lifetime or 25-30 years on 3-tab shingles. Full roofing system coverage is included.
– Workmanship coverage. 100% workmanship is covered for 25 years or 20 years on 3-tab shingles. Misapplication of certain flashing is covered for 25 years or 20 years on 3-tab shingles. Installers are certified. Tear-off costs are covered for manufacture defects and workmanship. Disposal costs are covered when needed.
– Peace of Mind Coverage. All GAF warranties include maximum wind coverage up to 130 MPH (except on 3-tab shingles) and transferable warranties at no charge.
– Problem prevention. A 40-point post installation inspection is included.
